A Cornish company which manufactures and distributes a range of cork homeware products received CIOSIF loan support to the tune of £80,000.
I for Design Limited’s ethical and environmentally responsible homeware products are proving increasingly popular with retailers including Rick Stein, The Eden Project and RSPB.
The business has achieved significant growth since establishing its LIGA brand in 2017, with the number of stores stocking its designs increasing from just 25 last year to more than 200 currently.
The £80,000 loan is made up of £35,000 from CIOSIF and £45,000 from SWIG Finance and will be used to introduce a new pottery range and expand the company’s wholesale operation.
David Elderkin, Director at I for Design, said, “As consumers continue to seek more sustainable, ethical products, demand grows for our designs, which are created in-house at our design studio here in Cornwall. With this funding we are able to fulfil these growing orders and take on new bespoke design contracts such as one we have recently secured with RNLI.”
